Before assuming the charge of the post of Secretary, Provincial Ombudsman Secretariat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Syed Muhammad Sohail (PMS BPS-20) worked against important administrative positions, like Special Secretary to Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Agriculture Department. He also served as Registrar, Appellate Tribunal (Sales Tax on Services), Director, Urban Areas Development Authorities (UADA) and Director Sustainable Development Unit (SDU), P & D Department, Govt of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar. He has also worked on various field positions like Assistant Commissioner, etc.
